HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1976-006 RESOLUTION NO. 76-6 MAYORS' COUNCIL RESOLUTION REGARDING THE CONTINUATION OF REVENUE SHARING WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States adopted the concept of the general Revenue Sharing Program whereby local governments received Federal funds for local use with minor restrictions, and WHEREAS, Revenue Sharing has been of great use and benefit to most of the cities of Tarrant County in the conduct of their regular fiscal business, and WHEREAS, an attempt is being made by certain factions in Congress to discontinue the Revenue Sharing Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayors' Council of Tarrant County, that the Mayors' Council members acting together and in concert, do hereby support and endorse the Revenue Sharing Program and proclaim it to be a valuable and fiscally responsible program and do oppose any attempt by any factions in Congress to eliminate Revenue Sharing.
