J.u~ ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTJIIN LANDt~ ADJACENT
TO Aln VITHIH ONE-HALF' I'ULE OF THE PRESENT
CITY LIMITS OF NORTH RICELAND HILLS
BE I'I ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF NORTH hICHLAND HILLS:
SECTION I
THE PETITION
On the 6th day of February, 1956, and at a special
meeting of the City Council, called for the purpose of considering
the petition of Mattie Crites, E. F. Crites, and twenty-two others
to annex certain lands in said petition described, said petition
having been received, filed and read to the Council at a meeting
held on the 19th day of January, 1956, and said petition after
having been 50 filed came on for further consideretion at a meeting
of Council held on the 6th day of February, 1956, which said petittori;
also contained the affidavit of Mrs. Mattie Crites, individually, ~nd
as Attorney in Fact for tventy-hro O'Hners of the lands in said pet-
ition described and as hereinafter described, and that said lands are
vacant and without residents, said petition and affidavit being on
file with the City Secretary, and said petition was considered.
SECTION II
FINDINGS
It having thus been made to appear to the Council, and the
members thereof, in accordance with the reauirements of Article 974G
of the Texas Statutes; that the territory described adjoins the town
of North Richland Hills; that it is not more than one-half (1/2) mile
in width and unincorporated; that the petition is signed by the sole
owners of said lands and territory and that the same is vacant and
without residents; and that said territory is necessary anó recuired
for immediate residential development for city purposes and is to be
used strictly for city purposes, and is described as follows :

BEING in Tarrant County, Texas, and beginning at the
intersection of the Westerly line of State Highway #121
with the Northerly line of County Road #3028 (being knm:J1
as the Old Fort Worth Birdville Road):
THENCE, in a Northerly direction with said boundary line
of State High\my #121 to the South boundary line of the Town
of North Richland Hills:
THENCE, follo'Hing the said boundary line of North Fiicbland
Hills, Westerly and then Southerly to the East boundary line
of a 100 foot strip of land annexed by, and being a part of
the City of Fort Worth, Texas:
THENCE, following said East boundary line of said 100 foot
strip Easterly then Southerly to said County Road kJO?8:
THENCE, Easterly along the North line of said COlmty
Road #3028 to the place of beginning:
SECTION III
ANNEXATION
The lands and territory as &6 described in the next preceing
section hereof is hereby received as a Dart of and incorpor8ted into
said City of North Richland Hills, and the inhabitant$ thereof shall
fro~ and after the passage hereof be entitled to all the rights and
privileges of other citizens, and bound by the acts and ordinances
mad( in conformity thereto.

WHEREAS, the City of Haltom City has heretofore an.n.ex-
cd ce¡'tain territory located in North Hills Addition, an addition to th:::_~ity
of North ilich1and Hills, Texas; and
WHEREAS, in order to avoid confusion, ambiguities aud
ovedapping of services, the:.:;ity COtlncil of the City of Haltom City deems
it advieable to relin.quish certain ter1'Îtories heretofore annexed¡ and
WHEREAS, a certain tract of land, a portion of which is
presently in the City of North Rich1and Hills. which the City of North r:ich-
land Hills has heretofore agreed to relinquish and release to the City of
Haltoln Gity; and
WHEREAS. the City Council of the City of Haltom City
deern8 it advisable to annex such land relinquished by the:::::ity of North

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT OF-DArNED BY THE CITY

All portions of North Hills Addition to the City of North
Richlal'ld Hills. Texas. which have heretofore been annexed. are hereby
relinquished to the <:::1ty of North Richland Hills, save and except that
;;::el·tain 17.2 acre tl'act bounded on the V/est by the Denton Highway, on
the South by Webster Street, on the East by Block 5 of North Hilla Addi-
tion. on the North by Block I of North Hills Addition. which 17.2 acre
tract is hereby retained, annexed and made an integral part of the City
of Haltom~~ity. Texas. The portion of North Hills Addition relinquished
by this ordinance includes that certain strip of land 50' wide lying imme-
diately east of and parallel to the Denton Highway from between the north
line of Lot 1. Block 4. and the south line of Lot 1. Block 1. of North Hills

I am enclosing copy of ordinance which I have prepared for North
R¡chland Hil}s which hope the Council may b~ able to adopt before
the end of the week. I will, however, appreciate your comment be-
fore it is presented to the Council for Ðdopt ion.
The plat to which the North Richland Hills ordinance refers is a
p1at which your City Manager furnished to Mayor McFarland of North
Richland Hills and the plat Is in accordanctl wîth our understanding
of the agreement and adjustment of boundaries, etc.
The ordinance which I have prepared for North R;chland Hills Goes
into considerably more deta;) and' guess that is because I am
usually somewhat verbose but wished the ordinance to be in such
