WHEREAS, The House of Representatives
of the Texas State Legislature has passed
House Bill 67, with Committee Amendment
numbe~ 1 and sent said bill to the Senate
of the Texas State Legislature, and;
WHEREAS, House Bill 67 with Committee
Amendment number 1 proposes to place the
City of North Richland Hills, a suburban
community in a dynamic metropolitan
area, in the same Congressional District
with Denton, Wise, Grayson, Cooke,
Montague, Jack, Clay, Young, Archer,
Wichita, Baylor and Wilbarger Counties,
these counties being largely undeveloped
and agriculturaly oriented, and;
WHEREAS, the City of North Richland
Hills, by its very nature, character and
pattern of growth and development is a
suburban community oriented to the Fort
Worth and Tarrant County metropolitan
area and not the rural and undeveloped
area to the north and west, and;
WHEREAS, the City of North Richland
Hills believes that the most improtant
consideration in providing adequate and
just representation for a suburban
metropolitan community is to place it
in a Congressional District of similar
and like character, and;
WHEREAS, House Bill 67 with Committee
Amendment number 1 does not achieve this
desirable and necessary qualification as
far as a large portion of Northeast
Tarrant County, and the City of North
Richland Hills is conce~ned,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY
THE CITIZENS AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, that the
duly elected representatives and legis-
lators representing Tarrant County be
requested and urged to oppose House Bill
67 with Committee Amendment number 1
and seek a solution that will provide
for the adequate representation of the
City of North Richland Hills in a Congres-
sional District of similar character and
interest.

of May, 1965.
