HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1980-012 RESOLUTION NO. 80-12 HHEREAS, an Election was duly held in the City of North Richland Hills, Texas, on the 5th day of April 1980, to elect a Mayor and Council to Places 1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; and 7; and, HHEREAS, the t1ayor and City Counci 1 du ly canvassed the V ptes of said election on this the 14th day of April 1980; and, HHEREAS, the canvass showed the following results: Candidates Office Total 1,210 246 186 388 1,191 270 1,047 239 Dick Faram Frank Proctor Lena Mae Reeder t~ayor Henry Besson Jim Kenna Counci 1 Place 1 Deon Besson Shary1 Groves Anthony Souders Jim ~ ood Rick Hicks Council Place 2 Council Place 3 1,269 303 395 590 451 Ray Brittion Tom E. Hubbard Council Place 4 Wiley Thomas Sid Cavanaugh Council Place 5 1,139 427 1,119 236 Bob Brady Nancy Strauser Council Place 6 Hrite-In Dave Freeman Phillip Gorsie Council Place 7 Hrite-In 1 ,305 56 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, that: 1. The above canvass be and the same is hereby in all things approved. 2. The Council finds that the following candidates should be declared elected to the office indicated: Office Duly Elected Official Mayor Dick Faram Council Place 1 Jim Kenna Council Place 2 Sharyl Groves Council Place 3 Jim Wood Council Place 5 ~Ji 1 ey Thomas Council Place 6 Bob Brady Council Place 7 Dave Freeman It further appearing that no candidate received a majority of the vote for the offices hereinafter indicated and that therefore, no candidate should be declared elected to such office: Office Council Place 4 The Council finds that Tom E. Newman and J. C. Hubbard are the two high candidates for Council Place 4 and that a run-off election between the two high candidates shall be held on the 10th day of r~a'Y 1980, at the City Hall, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to determine the office of Council Place 4.
