RESOLUTION NO. 88-27
WHEREAS, at the Special City Election of August 13, 1988, no
candidate received a majority of the votes in the race for City Council Place
1; and
Place 1.
WHEREAS, it is necessary to hold a Run-Off Election for City Council
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
North Richland Hills, that:
1.
A Run-Off Election is hereby called for September 10, 1988 between
the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Such election shall be held at the
following locations for the following voting precincts:

City of North Rich1and Hills, County of Tarrant, State of Texas, shall be
entitled to vote at said election.

The election shall be conducted-pursuant to the election laws of the
State of Texas. The City Secretary is directed to procure voting machines, if
available, for the election on September 10, 1988, and voting machines are
hereby adopted as the method of voting at such election.

RESOLUTION NO. 88-28
WHEREAS, a run-off election has been called to elect a City Council
person to Place 1; and
WHEREAS, the run-off is between ly1e E. Welch and Tom Shockley; and
WHEREAS, Tom Shockley has presented a written withdrawal of his name
from the ballot.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
North Richland Hills, Texas that:
1.
The City Council declares that no run-off election is necessary and
ly1e E. Welch is declared to be elected to Place One of the City Council to
serve the unexpired term of Marie Hinkle.

The low bid for the sprinkler system in the amount of $11,260 (see Cover
Sheet PU 88-39) from Hydrotech of Texas and the low bid from Plush
Landscaping Service in the amount of $19,394 totals $30,654. As
indicated above the amount appropriated for City Hall Facilities is
$41,000. This will leave a surplus of $10,346. The surplus could be
used for repair of the present sprinkler system on the east side of City
Hall and the addition of plants and shrubs deleted due to lack of
funding.

$33,700). Authorize the Director of Management Services to issue change
orqers in an amount not to exceed $10,346 (surplus) with the approval of
