2.
REVIEW CALLOWAY CREEK STUDY
Ms. Vickie Lottice gave a brief overview of the Calloway Creek Study. Mr. Bill Thornton
provided a PowerPoint presentation on the study findings. The Lopez Garcia Group was
selected as the consultant to prepare the Calloway Creek Study which offers channel and
lake improvement options for the section of channel between Booth Calloway Road and
Rodger Line Drive. The improvements are estimated to cost approximately $1,390,000 which
is not currently funded or budgeted. The Park and Recreation Board reviewed the study and
discussed the potential options for implementing the study.
The Park and Recreation Board considers the project worthwhile, and believes that it needs
to be pursued. However, the Board concurred that they do not desire to fund the project using
the City's ~ cent sales tax.
3.
REVIEW DESIGNS FOR THE LIBRARY PARK PLAZA
Ms. Lottice presented a brief overview and history of the Library Park Plaza location. Mr.
Thornton presented two concept designs for review. Both designs incorporate separate
themes significant to the area - the first theme being inspired by Quanah Parker, and the
second inspired by Mangham Airport. The Park and Recreation Board reviewed the proposed
plans and discussed each theme and related concept design.
The Park and Recreation Board expressed their preference with the theme honoring
Mangham Airport. They also articulated interest in special pedestrian scale lighting and
recognition signs.
