SPECIAL JOINT }'ŒETING OF PLANNING & ZONING
COMMISSION & CITY COUNCIL MAY 26, 1970

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Marion Massey who welcomed the new members
of the Zoning Commission. Mayor Massey asked City Attorney, Dennis Morrow to
administer the oath of office to all members of the Zoning Commission. Mayor
Massey opened the floor for nominations for the office of Chairman of the Zoning
Commission. On nomination by lvIr. Peters, seconded by Mr. Rinn it was moved that
1-1:r. Wm. Ratcliff be elected Chairman of the Commission by acclamation with all
members voting affirmative. At this time Mr. Hatcliff presided over the meeting.
There followed a lengthy discussion as to policy and procedure to be followed in
the Commissions forthcoming tenure of office. Mr. Ratcliff opened the floor for
nominations for the office of Secretary. On a motion by Mr. Rinn, seconded by Dr.
Hager motion was made to elect 11rs. J.W. Shaunty Secretary by acclamation. All
members voting affirmative. Chairman Ratcliff opened the floor for nominations
for a Vice Chairman. On a motion by Mr. Peters, seconded by 1-1rs. Shaunty motion was
made to elect Dr. Hager Vice Chairman by acclamation. All members voting affirma-
tive. Meeting was declared adjourned by Chairman Ratcliff.
