MINUTES OF THE ¥ÆETING OF THE
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE CITY
OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS:
HELD AT THE CITY HALL, 4101 MOR-
GAN CIRCLE, TUESDAY NOVEMBER 16,
1971
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting of the Board of Adjustment
was called to order by Chairman, Mr.
H.B. Helton at 7:30 P.M.

MEETING Motion of approval of the minutes of the previous meeting was
made by Mr. Palachek, seconded by Dr. Hahn. Motion carried 3-0.

Request of Mickey Hazlewood for a variance from
the City of North Richland Hills Zoning Ordinance
Number 179 on a 6.15 acre tract of land out of
the O. Rumfield Survey to place a mobile home
at this location on a permanent basis. Mickey
Hazlewood came forward to present her case to
the members of the board. Mrs. Hazlewood stated
that she wished to place a mobile home on her
property, including a carport and other con-
veniences for the benefit and fun of her immediate
family. She stated that she ~uld like to have water
furnished by the City if possible, or she would have
her own private well. This mobile home would be
occupied by }1rs. Hazlewood' B aunt and uncle to allow
them a place to have tÌieir mobile home, and to take
care QJf the cattle now on her property. Yœ. Palachek
asked the exact location of the property in question.
After this being determined, it was checked for the
access to the property. ~frs. I1Azlewood stated that
Væ. Kirk and 1vIr. Slate told her that they had dedica,ted
30 feet of R.O.W. of their property for streets. Mr.
Helton asked ~J1rs. Hazlewood why she d.id not consider
a home to be built on her property, if she wanted this

on a permanent basis. She stated that the cost was
too great, and with her relatives having the trailer
at the present time, this would cut the coat·· consider-
ably. J.fr. Ballenger stated that any type well would
have to be approved by the City Council, and if approved,
would have to be approved by the Water Control Board.
It is also required that for a septic system being in-
stalled on property not served by sewage, a perculation
test would be required with a set of plans submitted to
the County Health Department for approval before a permit
could be issued. Recess was called by Chairman, Mr. Helton
for the members to review the request and disc~ssion.
After much discussion and deliberation on the request,
motion of denial was made by J..-Ir. Palachek, seconded by
Dr. Hahn. ~1otion carried 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. Helton stated for the record that as Chairman of the
Board of Adjustment, he was asked by all of the other
members to contact the Department Heads and the City
Manager of the City regarding any outside interference.
¥œ. Helton stated that he had so complied with this
request, and had discussed this matter with the ¥~yor.
He also stated that in the future, if any outsiide inter-
ference were to come up, it would be the policy of the
board to table the request, and send the matter back to
the source of interference.
