PZ 69-24 Request of Fort lIorth Christian College for a variance
from City of rJorth Richland Hills Zoning Ordinance rIo.
179 to place approximately eight or more mobile home
units on the ca.mpus for dorm.itory use for single men
and single women students, with councelor living in
between. Represented b::l the College 'tvere :t·'r. Charles
Owen, Ifr. Foy L. TCirkpatrick, Dean, and J-.'Tr. D. l'layne

case to the members of the board. lie stated more facil-
i ties \-[ere needed for tlle additiorlal students before the
beginning of tllis fall semester. The College 11as made
application for a Federal Loan for construction of ad-
ditional dormitories at the rate of 3% for 50 years.
The l110bile homes would be special ordered 3 bed rooms
and large sitting room 11Ìth no kitchen. They would have
central air and 11eat. The wl1eels would be removed and
placed on concrete piers. There would be skirts around
the bottorl of eacl1 unit. Tl1e ~~¡all{s 1'I0111d be of pebble
stone, and could be relTIoved at such time the lli~i ts 1"¡ere
to be m.oved. :2;aCll unit would be the same size and color
'tvith a fence around tl1e.m. This 'tiould alloYl six students
in each unit. This "Vlould be så..milar to 'trlhat they have
at the present time. r.~r. Charles Ot-ven came forvrard stat-
ing it vTould take 2 or 3 years for the units to be on the
c arnpus , and ,",'{ould have to add 4 to 6 T!lOre units next

11"ater and sewerage. lIe stated Ìle could see no problem.
I<r. Ovien stated that .1J01ver and telephone lines vrould
be under ground. l'r.IIelton asked if the variance 't1'as
granted a11d at a later date this vlould be permanant tlle
outside structure 1'¡0111d have to conforn1 to City Ordi-
l1ance. 11r. Ot'len stated t11at as soon as the loan vias
granted t11e3T 1vould rnove the entire structures, and ne'Vl
dormitories would be built. After revievl of the plans

homes for a 5 year variance be granted, seconded by
