MARCH JO, 1965, A.D. ROLL CALL Those present: Alan Hamm, Clarence Pyron and Ray E. Porter. Secretary of the Zoning Commission, C.W. Adcock and City Secretary. ELECTION OF A CHAlRMAN Mr. Clarence Pyron made a motion seconded by Mr. Alan Hamm that Mr. Ray E. Porter be elected Chairman. The motion passed unanimously. SMITHFIELD A'DDITION·J Mr. Porter read the legal notice published in the Dally News Texan. The notice stated: Lots 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, 11, 13 and 15 block J, Smithfield Addition are presently zoned: Class A residential. A request has been made by Mr. Sherley Berry that these lots be zoned industrial. The following persons opposed the zoning: Mr. Joe Warren lot 12 opposed on the grounds that any industrial estab- lishment might be2too noisy. Mr. John Elledge, lot 10 had the same feeling as Mr. Warren. Mr. Pyron made a motion seconded by Mr. Hamm that the property be rezoned to industrial, with the recommendation to the Council that a fence be constructed around the industrial area. It was also pointed out to the property owners that a City Ordinance prohibited loud noises from any establishment. WEA VER TRACT IN THE W. W. WALLA,CE SURVEY, ABSTRACT 16ð6 Mr. Ray Porter read the legal notice which stated: A hearing will be held to determine the request of Mr. John W. Weaver that a 20 acre tract out of the W.W. Wallace Survey, bounded on the North by Shauna Drive on the South by Victoria, on the east by Georgia, Oliver and Riviera and on the west by Rufe Snow Drive., be rezoned from it's present classification of Class A residential to a proposed classification of Class C residential.
