Mr. Latham was asked to come forward to express his side of the
matter. He said that he felt due to the new highway the lots
involved were not fit res1dential. After this several people
in the audience were asked their opinions; the following persons
were opposed to a change in the zoning, Mr. Bill Taylor,
Mr. Morgan, Mrs. John Aubrey was very strongly opposed, Bob
Nelson, Mrs. M1nnah, Jack McDaniel, ser10usly objected, Mrs.
E. P. Shawon, Mrs. W. P. Clark, J. E. Gardner, R. L. Wells
J. D. Lewis, Frank Donner, John Orbi t, John, ,Crawford, Oscar
Lockley, Parker Shaw, J. W. Shawnee, W. T. Clark. Aftèr
considerable discussion the audience was asked to give a show
of hands as to the persons opposed to the change in zoning"
there were 28 opposed and none for. Mr. Abbott then made motion
and Mr. Oxford seconded it to disapprove the request for re-
zoning due to the circumstances and the number of protestants.

2. DISCUSSION: LOTS 1 and 2 OF BLOCK "N" OF RICHLAND
OAKS ADDITION:
Mr. Owens came forward to speak in favor of the request for
rezoning. He stated that the plans for tile proper·ty was a
14 unit apartment house for adults only with an entrance and
exit to the Rear. Mrs. Conrad stated that she had the plans.
Considerable discussion followed and the following were op-
posed to the change in rezon1ng:Co1een Obrein, Bill Smiley,
J. C. Eastland, Charlse Osborn, Mrs. Eastland, Mrs. Winchester
C. E. Foley,w1shed to have his name withdra~~ from the original
petit10n as did Mrs. Hargis, also Mr. Neeuban, and Paul Flynn
withdrew, Mrs. Byrd was opposed. After considerable discussion
a show of hands indicated that 22 were op:posed to the change
in zoni~g and one was for it. Motion was made by Mr. .Moncrief
and seconded by Mr. Abbott to delay action on this request until
plans and specifications could be brought before the comm1ssiog.
Motion carried 3-0. The next meeting was set for January 16,
1963, at 7:30 P. M.
3. MOTION TO ADJOURN:
Motion was made by Mr. Moncrief and seconded by Mr. Oxford to
adjourn. Meeting adjourned 9:;0 P. M., December 5, 196).
