ZONING COMMISSIO~
MEETING J MARCH 3 J
1962, at 12:30 PM
Members Present: Mr. Jack Renfro, Mr. W. B. Leffingwell, and
Mr. Frank Stalcup. Members absent: Mr. W. E. French, Mr. A.
F. Abbott, and Mr. Ray Porter. Mr. Renfro acted as Chairman.
1. DISCUSSION - OF THE REVISED PlAT OF DIAMOND OAKS S. ADD.:
Mr. E. J. Wilson submitted to the Commission a revised plat of
the Diamond Oaks South Addition. The cnanges involved a new
Coubt named Wendell Court South being added and deleting the
circular street as shown on the original preliminary. The
changes were minor and the Zoning Commission was in agreement
with the request.
2. DISCUSSION - PRESENTED BY THE PROGRESSIVE DEVELOPMENT CO.:

Mr. Tom Whitley and Mr. Burgess of the Carter and Burgess
Engineering concern were representatives for the plat. This
being a controversal plat and onee a highly contested one Mr.
Burgess went into great detail as to his extensive study of the
possi bili ty of the f100ding of these lots. He ste ted tha t he
had given careful study and consideration to the United Stated
Army Corps of Engineers report that were ma~e availablè to
him and that it is his considered belief an6 eontention that
provided these lots were brought to the 530 feet level as he
recommends that the area will be safe from any flooding due to
rainfall up to 17 inches in a period of 24 hours. Mr. Whitley
assurred the ~ommission that this 530 feet level will be comþ
plied with on the spaces to be OCcup~ed with the homes. After
considerable discussion Mr. Leffingwell made the motion am
Mr. Stalcup seconded that this plat be approved as Class A
Residential, provided that adequate fill dirt is brought in
to bring the elevation to the 530 mark as suggested and recom-
mended by Mr. Burgess.
3. MOTION TO ADJOURN:
Motion was made by Mr. Stalcup and Seconded by Mr. Leffin~ell
to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 2:25 P. M.
