ZONING COMMISSION

Members Present: Mr. Ray Porter, Mr. W. B. Leffingwell, Mr.
E. F. Abbott, Mr. Jack Renfro, and Mr. W. E. French.

1. DISCUSSION - REZONE LOT -__6 BLOCK .1, JACK M. ESTES SURVEY
After considerable discussion Mr. Renfro brought out the fact
that !'Ir. McCauley had been granted a temporary variance in
1956 and a permanent one the following year. The legal notice
was read and M~ McCauley was called to discuss the matter with
the commission.
Mr. T. H. Fort, 6708 Harmonson Road asked about off street
parking. After son:e discussion Section 6 of Ordinance JJ
was read. Mr. Porter asked if there were other people
present *ho_were interested in the above mentioned pro-
perty, there were none.
Mr. Renfro stated that it had been his belief for several
years that this property would someday be logical commercial
property. Mr. Renfro made a motion that the property be rec-
eived by the Commission for approval, Mr. Abbott seconded
this motion and it wès approved by all.
2. DISCUSSION - REZONE LOT 1 OF THE EDGELY ADDIr.f'ION

Mr. O. C. Hebert requested that the Commission rezone Lot 1
of the Edgley Addition, 7291 Grapevine Highway, and Doctor
W. W. Sumner, the prospective purchaser, spoke in behalf of
the request. The letter and petition was read to the group.
Mr. P. T,.¡. Taylor, 7285 Glenview opposi te corner from the
property to be rezoned, expressed his protest on the basis
of traffic congestion and other reasons.
Mr. MCQuitty, 7290 Glenview, objected because of the traffic
and stated that the street was too narrow now.
Mr. N. D. King, 7224 Glenview, Richland Hills Councilman,
was opposed also.

Mr. McGrady,7272 Glenview, asked if it was ever determiced by
the ex-city attorney whether or not the property could be leg-
ally zoned if there was any OP1=loslt1on.
Mr. Jordon stated that unless the property could be restricted
to a hospital and clinic, he would object and that he felt the
other petitioners felt the same way. Dr. Sumner assured the
people that he had no use or intention for thebt except for
the building of a c1jnic.
Mr. Paul Daniels, Mayor of Richland Hills, made a plea on
behalf of the Bichland Hills citizens to deny the petition.

Mr. Renfro made a motio~ contingent upon the city inspector
not receiving objections from citizens before council meeting,
that it be recommended to City Council for approval, otherwise
not to be received. This motion was later withdrawn by Mr.
Renfro. Mr. Renfro made a motion to postpone any furtner
action until April 7, 1962, seconded by Mr. Abbott, motion
carried unam1nously.

Motion was made to adjourn by Mr. Leffingwell and seconded by
Mr. Abbott. Motion carried unamlnously.
