The meeting was called to order at 12:45 F.M. by Chairman Renfro, with
'·embers 1vlcDaniel.. l~oveJr" and French beinr; pr esent.
The first matter taken up was the request of Mr. Owens end IMr. Jackson
for changes to local retail business of various lots and tracts in the immediate
vicinity o£ Ru£e Snow Drive and the intersection o£ the proposed Highway 217.
1~s. Jackson and ~~. Joe Owe~s appeared before the Comrndssion in their behalf.
After lengthy discussion~ it was voted unanimously to approve Tract B, Tract D,
-anà Tract E for Mr. eN¡ens but Tract ~ not be allowed due to conflict with
existing residential property. It was brought out that the denial of Tract A
should Lot work a hardship on ~~. eN/ens, as the Texas Electric Service Company
power easement may be paved and used as an entrance and exit to the shopping
center site.
Action was deferred on Mr. Jackson's property until such time as he
can meet~~hh the commission to discuss it.
IvIr. Bradley and ~Ær. v{oolf came next befcr e the commission for their
hearing on. rezoning a two acre tract in tIle T ~ K. Iv1artin survey, aoross from t
Mangram's Airport, described in the previous minutes. The commission was
unanimous in their decision to approve this tract as industrial.
Meeting adjourned at 2:15 P.M.
CITY COUNCIL MEErING OCTOBER 24, 1960
The COl.~ncil voted to approve all four tracts-A, B, D, AND E-
for ]Ær. Ov¡ens.. and approve tIle Industrial Zoning for 1vIr. Brooks and lJfr.
