Present were: W. H. Tripp, Chairman Harold Daley, Secretary Bob Lockett, Jr., J. W. Watson W . 111. 1A}'hl t e Absent were: vi. A. McGee A quorum being present, proceeded to business. Chairman TripD announced that Harold Daley had been appointed as Secretary to reDlace C. C.Blackrnan, who is moving to Houston. He also invited attention to City Ordinance No. 23, the Zoning Ordin- ance, Dassed and annroved by City Council 3-15-56; that it was being nublished in the "Neighborhood News"; and suggested that each member secure a copy and familiarize himself with its con- tents, and that the ordinance be incorporated in the minutes of this meeting. It was unanimously so ordered. It was suggested that under the law, the Commission now should hold regular scheduled meetings each month to consider matters Zonln~ Com., March 24, 1956 to be brought before it. And that these meetings should be held at a definite time and nlace, so that the public would be informed. It was unanimously agreed that since the regular Council meeting was held on the first Monday in each calendar month, that the Com- mission would meet the last Saturday in each preceding month, so as to be able to reDort their proceedings to the Council. It was then unanimously agreed that the Planning and Zoning Com- mission of the T~Jn of North Richland Hills should regularly meet on the last Saturday of each calendar month, at 10:00 A.M. at the office of Harold Daley, Secretary (Eastern Tarrant Insur- ance Company) in the shopping center of North Richland Hills, and so ordered. Mr. White suggested that in view of the rapid development in our Town, and the great number of houses being built, that perhaps now was an appropriate time to be thinking to the future with reference to some method of securing uniformity in construction standards. It was moved by Mr. 1:¡hi te, seconded by Hr. Lockett, that the City Council be requested to secure, for our study, such informa- tion as could be gotten from the Texas League of Municipalities, as to Construction Codes; Electrical Codes; Plumbing Codes, etc. / : This matter was fully discussed, and it 1~as brought out that we have no desire to hamner or "ham-string" builders with vexatious interference, but that we should have some general nlan for uni- Zonin~ Com., Narch 24, 19S6 formity in safe construction standards. This motion was unanimously carried, and so ordered. The Chairman was instructed to bring this resolution to the attention of the City Council. Chairman Tripp then presented the plat of the "Final Plan", "Rich- land Terrace Addition", submitted by Cen-Tex Construction Company, consisting of 879 lots, of typical size, 70 x 120, with reserved space for shopping center, and park space. He stated that it was his information that the plat had been F.R.A. and V.A. approved; that the Developers had complied with requests to L It t'\ C ~ .. W.!:!J- secure access to existing streets for fire ~; that the set-back lines, and utilitýeasements were of standard size and that it was in accordance with Chapter 231, Acts of 40th Legislature, 1927, (Article 974-A, Revised Civil Statutes) The Plat was unanimously aDDroved, and the Chairman and Secretary authorized and directed to execute the same according to law. And to return one signed copy to the Developer, and one signed coPy to the City Council for their records; and so ordered.
