Present: Jo Ann Stout John Lewis Jed Ford Neighborhood Services Director Councilman D.V.M., Family Pet Clinic Staff Members: \ , Stephanie East Tommy Miller Carey Parrack Environmental Health Supervisor Humane Services Supervisor Secretary Absent: Pam Burn~y Senior Director of Regional Services, National Shelter Outreach, ASPCA Item Discussion Action Taken Follow Up Call to Order MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 12:00 NOON Approval of COUNCILMAN LEWIS MOVED TO the Minutes ApPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE JULY 29, 2004 ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY BOARD MEETING. DR. FORD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION TO APPROVE CARRIED 3-0 Discussion Jo Ann Stout told board of Possible members that changes to the Ordinance dangerous dog ordinance which Changes were discussed at the last board meeting have been shelved until a meeting can be scheduled with attorney George Staples to discuss the mod ifications. Update on Jo Ann Stout informed board Expansion members that RFQ's went out Project last month for hiring a Fundraiser; three of the four RFQ's have been returned, once all of them have been received the expansion committee will meet and relay the information to the advisory board. Ms, Stout said it is anticipated that the Fundraiser Item Discussion Action Taken Follow Up will be required for approximately one year, Ms. Stout also stated that Watauga is definitely building an animal shelter and pulling out, which means a loss of revenue for NRH, Watauga's animal shelter is expected to be completed d some time in 2006, Set Date for Commission members stated TOMMY MILLER WILL September they were free to meet again CONTACT BOARD Meeting the week of September 26th. MEMBER PAM BURNEY TO SEE IF SHE IS FREE Tommy Miller will contact TO MEET THE WEEK OF board member Pam Burney to SEPTEMBER 26TH; see when she is free to meet at TOMMY WILL INFORM that time, BOARD MEMBERS OF DATE SELECTED. Adjournment DR. FORD MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 12:15 P.M. COUNCILMAN LEWIS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION TO APPROVE CARRIED 3-0
