Warren Cox suggested allocating
money for micro-chips for all
animals, in order to increase the
number of animals micro chipped
and possibly set up a free micro-
chip clinic. It was also suggested
that a work session be set up
between the NCTASC and
Veterinarians from surrounding
cities to explore different ways of
getting animals identified, whether
it be micro-chips or licenses.
Councilman Welch recommended
contacting cities who offer free
micro-chipping to see how
successful their programs are.

Burney informed the Board that the
ASPCA will provide all of the
materials needed for advertising
on a full-size billboard, if NRH can

IR-01-12 Board members and NRH staff
Critter reviewed the Critter Connection
Connection adoption activity from Februrary 3,
to June 30, 2001 (see attached).
Don Sharp conveyed that
adoptions were down, due to the
Critter Connection being closed
while relocating to the new space
and the parvo and distemper
outbreak that occurred the first
part of June. Don Sharp also
reported that Donation Jar
contributions have increased in
part because of a popcorn
machine that was purchased and
placed in the Critter Connection.
Customers can have fresh
popcorn free of charge, while they
shop. The Critter Connection's
Donation Jar was placed next to
the popcorn machine and
customers can make a
contribution, if they choose to do
so.
Don Sharp told board members
that MaryAnn Townsend has taken
a full time job but is still very
committed to the Critter
Connection. Recently, she and
Pam Burney went to Market in
Dallas and purchased new items
to sale.
