Director Jo Ann Stout told commission members that the section they recommended for
improvement, the area known as the Davis fly-over, is already part of a CIP project so
Administration would like to see improvements made on Davis Boulevard, starting with the
section at Davis Boulevard and Maplewood Drive and ending at Emerald Hills Way. Ms. Stout
stated that since this is such a large project, it will be done in phases; funding will come from
the $130,000.00 awarded to the Keep NRH Beautiful commission and $50,000.00 the Parks
department set aside for project development. Ms. Stout relayed that once it is determined
how far this money will go ($180,000.00), the rest of the project costs will be calculated; then,
"they" will go before council to request the additional monies needed for completing the project.
Ms. Stout also said that TXDOT has a matching grant program that will "match" the amount
approved by council.
Ms. Stout then told commission member that the Parks department must meet with TXDOT
engineers to get their approval for putting pavers in the street; Park's is "pretty confident" that
the remainder of the plan, sidewalks and landscaping, will be approved. Once TXDOT has
approved the project plan, it will be presented to the Keep NRH Beautiful commission
