KNRHB members discussed upcoming Christmas events: :> Night of Holiday Magic-December 4, 2004, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. KNRHB members will collect ticket money and help kids get on and off the train. KNRHB Christmas Notify Christmas Lighting Award Tour-- Lighting Award December 5, 2004 nominees · KNRHB members will meet at the Neighborhood Services building at 5:30 p.m. for Tour to choose the lighting Award winners. · Nominations will be accepted from Yard of the Month judges. · The YOM judges will tell the nominees what night the winners will be chosen to ensure their lights are turned on. >- Christmas Lighting A ward Winners announced at December 13, 2004, City Council Meeting · Kathy Luppy will do the award presentation Discuss Tree Tree City USA will be Place on City USA discussed at next meeting. Recognition of Since this year's volunteer Volunteers appreciation dinner is going to be held in the spring rather than in the fall, as in the past, KNRHB commission members believed they should do something at present time to recognize their volunteers. Also included in each basket will be a thank you card/note informing them that they will receive an invitation to the volunteer appreciation dinner next Spring. Youth Debbie York provided Application for members with a draft copy of Appointment an application she came up to the KNRHB with for the KNRHB Youth Commission Alternate appointment. Kathy Luppy will contact Dr. Tribble, BISD, to get her opinion on the best way to advertise the appointment opportunity. Commission members came up with the following program criteria: · Applications must be turned in no later than December 1st · If appointee is in the 11 th grade, they will be eligible for re- appointment the next year · Student's term will last until the end of the school year Item -. -L>iscussion Action Taken F(j)lIow Up . Appointee must re- apply each year Applications will be given to the Mayor for review so he can make the appointment. Clean Campus Six schools applied for the Award Clean Campus Award; board Applications members determined that all six had met the program requirements, therefore, qualifying for the award. The Clean Campus Award winners are: · Alliene Mullendore Elementary · Carrie Francis Thomas Elementary · Green Valley Elementary · North Ridge Elementary · Smithfield Middle School · Snow Heights Elementary The Clean Campus Awards will be presented to the winners at the November 8, 2004, city council meeting. Neighborhood Commission members were Initiative provided with a list of NIP Program projects to choose from. Project Commission members chose three different projects; Bill Stewart will look at each of the projects and decide which of the projects they will do.
