Keep Texas Debbie York and Kathy Luppy Beautiful attended the KTB conference Conference in Austin; they found out that Reports North Richland Hills was only half a point away from winning first place. Both reported the conference was "inspiring" and they found that other affiliates faced some of the same problems as KNRHB, such as getting funding for programs. Kathy Luppy was impressed by one program sponsored by the City of Gainsville called "The Medal of Honor Host City Program". The program recognizes Medal of Honor recipients and "the principles that the medal represents- Duty, Honor and Country". The Medal of Honor Recipients receive recognition through the planting of trees along the city's Home Grown Hero Walking Trail. Ms. Luppy thought a program such as this might be appropriate for North Richland Hills' Liberty Park, which is currently under construction. --"..,._~'---~.~..~"~~~~--------~-_.
