ITEM 4: DISCUSSION OF HANDLING FUTURE PROGRAMS
Jim Browne stated that line of communication with the city
needed to be better.
Ms. Robinson brought up need for better publicity for
projects. Mr. Powers discussed Christmas tree shredding
project. He suggested that citizens bring in trees to be
made into chips and mulch for the City. He suggested
announcing the project on water bills.
Mr. Browne asked that project be held until next year,
because of the late date.
Ms. Robinson discussed having Mayfest in the spring. She
said there are several clubs in the area that might help.
A letter was received from Robert A. Eget, manager of North
Hills Mall. It stated his interest in helping the
commission with improvements, although he could not make
direct cash contributions.
It was brought up that the Commission will be needed to help
get Watauga Road landscaped. Discussion included helping to
improve parks, community center, etc. Mr. Browne will make
a master plan of all parks and get input from the commission
on ideas for improvement. He will get a form to help figure
man hours needed to complete different kinds of landscaping.
There was discussion of developing codes to encourage
citizens and companies to help in the beautification of the
City.

write the by-laws at the next meeting.

one thing.
