Chairman Robert Skinner called the meeting to order November 17, 1987, at 7:00 P.M. ROLL CALL PRESENT: ROBERT SKINNER JOHN LARRIVIERE JOE CRANE MARY NORWOOD ORVILLE BAKER CHAIRMAN MEMBER MEMBER MEMBER MEMBER STAFF: BOB WILLIAMS DANNY TAYLOR JUDY BRYANT BUILDING INSPECTOR DIVISION CHIEF SECRETARY MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 13, 1987 APPROVED Joe Crane moved, seconded by Orville Baker, to approve the minutes of the October 13, 1987 meeting with one correction on the date stated by Mr. Taylor on page four, should have been 1973 instead of 1963. Motion carried 5-0. BBA 87-7 APPEAL DEMOLITION ORDER - 6237 ONYX DRIVE SOUTH Chairman Robert Skinner called forward Mr. Jack Sparks to speak on behalf of this appeal. Mr. Sparks stated he believed Dubose Company had met the requirements of the Board's last decision. Mr. Williams stated that he had inspected the sight on Friday, November 13, 1987. At that time all the walls had been torn down and were stacked around the yard in piles. He was not able to inspect the foundation except visually. Mr. Sparks stated that the foundation was sound and that he and asked Mr. Williams to approve it for a permit. Mr. Sparks stated Mr. Williams would not approve a permit at that time. Mr. Sparks stated that the original buyer had backed out of the deal when the Board ordered that all walls would have to be removed and that Dubose had finally gotten another buyer for the property buy had not had sufficient time to have new plans drawn up to submit to the building inspection department. Page 2 Mr. Skinner asked Mr. Sparks why it had taken so long to start the clean up work. Mr. Sparks stated the original buyer backing out had caused the delay. Mr. Crane asked if they now had a new purchaser who was prepared to re-build. Mr. Sparks stated yes. Mrs. Norwood stated that she wanted to make clear that the lot must be cleaned completely of a debris. Mr. Sparks stated the lot was now clean. Pictures say not true. Mr. Skinner made a motion to uphold the demolition order. Mr. Larriviere asked if that was foriromediate demolition. Mr. Skinner stated yes. Mr. Baker seconded motion Mrs. Norwood stated she felt additional time should be given to complete the cleanup work. Mr. Larriviere agreed. Mr. Skinner motioned to uphold the demolition order with an extension until November 9, 1987. Mr. Baker abstained. Seconded by Joe Crane Motion carried 3 -1.
