OF THE CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, HELD IN THE PRE-COUNCIL CHAMBERS IN CITY HALL, ~ LOCATED AT 7301 NORTHEAST LOOP 820 OCTOBER 3, 1994 - 6:30P.M. ATTENDANCE Present: Don Tipps Chairman Sharon Battles Vice Chairwoman Rick Work Board Member Ann Perchard Board Member Bobbie Lambert Board Member STAFF: Jim Browne Director of Parks & Recreation Patty Moos Park Planning & Construction Superintendent Vickie Loftice Recreation Superintendent Gina Gonzalez Secretary Absent : Pam Jackson Board Member J. Douglass Davis Board Member Denny Stout Board Member 1. CALL TO ORDER Mr. Tipps called the meeting to order October 3, 1994 at 6:32 P.M. 2. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES (Passed 4-0) Mr. Lambert made a motion, seconded by Ms. Perchard, to approve the minutes of the September 6, 1994 meeting. Motion carried 4-0. 3. PARKS, PUBLIC GROUNDS, AND CIP REPORTS Mr. Browne introduced Ms. Moos to the Board. Ms. Moos provided a report of the status of capital improvement projects. The Board was brought up to date on recent Council actions related to the Family Aquatic Park _ Project. The Board was also informed as to the location of their brick at Adventure World and advised that the RYA football season was started without interruption. 4. _ _ RECREATION, ATHLETICS AND SENIOR ADULT SERVICES Ms. Loftice provided a report of activities in recreation, athletics, and senior adult services. 5. OTHER ITEMS NOT ON AGENDA Mr. Browne presented to the Board suggested names for other undeveloped/developing park sites. The "Naming Committee" will meet soon to discuss the submitted names. Committee members will be contacted as to the date of the meeting. (Due to Mr. Davis' health status and Mr. Stout's unpredictable schedule, Mr. Tipps and Mr. Lambert volunteered to temporarily assume their roles in the "Naming Committee".) Mr. Browne gave the status of the Green Valley park site. The City has received the permit from the Corp of Engineers to discharge and mitigate the wetlands. Notice for bids will be advertised in a few weeks. The development of the new wetlands may also include the children from North Ridge Elementary School as a"hands on" learning tool. Staff has been in contact with the PTA officers from the school. 6. ADJOURNMENT (Passed 4-0) Ms. Battles made a motion, seconded by Ms. Perchard, to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 P.M.
