secanded by Ms. Battles. Vote was unanimous

NEW BUSINESS :
ITEM 1: PARKS DIVISI~1 UPt~TE
Mr. Giacomarro ga~e the fallawiny report:
All parks are being prep~red for the ~prinq ~2&5011. Replacement of
ba.l)field tights will be done before April. At Rict~field ParK four
li4hts will be repaired as will 26 lights at Fossit Creek ParK.
Northfield ParK: Ballfietd #1 is stilt wet from all the rain and
additionAl dirt has been brought in to top~ the fi~ld. Ftowers are
being ptanted at Northfield around the flagpole.
M~. McGil~ary a~ked if any btuebonnets had sprouted. Mr. Giacomarro
stated that he had nat seen any.
Mr. Da~is asKed wha.t the vandatism costs co~er. Mr. Giacomarro
stated that the increase in ~andalism in JanuarY was the dugout
co~er~. The February ~andali~m cost was the one of the bathrooms
at Richfield ParK and one ef the signs at Fossil CreeK ParK Trail. '

ITEM ATHLETICS/RECREATIC~i DIVISION REFORT
Mr, Brown~ re~orted the foltowiny:
Registration for softball wili be taken through March 10, 19E7. As
of this date, there are 60 teams regist~red fvr ptay to begin Monday
Ma~ch Ib, 1987,
Saftball Athle#ic Officials Association certification at Northfield
FarK for "on fietd" methar~ics warKshop, March 3.
The Pre-Season Tour•nament will be held on March 7, beginning at 9AM.
Th~ secc+nd h1Y5CA clinic will be for baseball and seftball on March
1$ and 19 at 7PM at the Cc~rtxnunity Center. Contact has been made
with the Jerrell Neely, of the NRGSA, to inuite ttre girls fastpitch
caach at BaYlor and the basebatl coach fram Richtand High School to
spealt at #his clinic. All Board Members ar@ in~ited ta attend and
pro~ide input or experience the class. The Richtand High School
coach will be attending on Thursday e~ening. Each clinic wi11 last
approximately twa hours and 15 minutes. Mr. Browne asKed if anyone
who knew anyone who is in~ol~~d in any kind of youth sports whase
input woutd benefit the coaches. Mr. Fenimar~ 5tatpd that he Knows
of a physical therapist, Dr. J~ensen in Dr. Yamamoto's office.
Mr. ParKey stated that he Kn~s Mr. TortrtKnny Rollin~, of Richtand Hiqh
School. Mr. Roltins does clinics al1 o~er the state. Mr. Brawne
stated tha# h~ wilt foltow up on these contacts.
Mr. Tipp~ asKed when a tour would be gi~en to the Baard on the new
facility. Mr. Browne s#at~d that the contractors still ha~e
possession of the building. Mr. PetiKa stated that the ~Ym ftoor
is torn up, putting in th~ ete~ator, walls are torn up. Technically
speaKinq, the building is under the cantractor. The balcony in the
gym hag been #orn up. Mr. Parkey asKed when the target date is for
the completion. Mr. P~tika answered that Augu$# is an approximate
date. Mr. Da~is ~:sKed if a whote new gym floor was being replaced.
Mr. Browne atated tfi at was correct. M~. McGil~ary asked about the
ele~ato~. Mr. Petika stated that the new facitity is a public
buitding and under federat regulation must have an ele~ator for
. handicapped access.

Mr. Jerrell Ne~tr. Cam~issioner, stated that he appre~iat~s the
worK don~ by Mr. Browne on the yauth caaches certificatian program.
Mr. N~ety brought bef ore the Board a request for #ournament5
anly during the unoccupied hours, the gates be padlocKed due to
vandatism in the ~arly morning haurs. Prepara#ion is done the night
before for th~ following day and during the early morning hours

infields and de~troying atl the fietd preparAtions. Mr. Dauis asKed
if all bases are taKen aff the fields each night. Mr. Neely

Mr. Da~is ma~de a motion that during tournament play a locK will be
pro~ided by the CitY to padlocK the gates to the ballfields, with
the City being in possession of one Key. Mr. Fenimore seconded the
motion. Vote w~s unanimous in fa~or of the motion.
Mr. Neely gave #he following repart:
March 7 and 14 will contlude #h¢ir registration for girls saf#ball.
Registration will be conducted fram lOAM-SPM at the Out1Et Mall.
NRGSA has b~en a.warded a tournament site to help c~lEbrate the
F~neritan Softball Association's 100th Birthday. This tournament
is a marathon taurnament a.nd will be held in April, 1987. There
wilt ae a numbEr af celebrities at the celebration.
NRGSA has acquired #he TAAF Regionats for all ag~ diwisians.
They will be hosting se~en taurnaments this year. There will be
#eams from all o~er the cauntry attending #hese ~ariou~ tournaments.
Mr. ~feely requested that the fence be mo~ed back on Fietd #3 due to
the number of tournaments and the number af older players in their
arganization. They witl pay all costs and obtain the.neEded
p~rmits. The fence is approximately 150' on the left field side.
The right field can not b~ mo~ed b~caus~ it is agains# the street.
It was clarified #hat the field is located on the north end of the~
- park and the mo~e af tht fence wauld put it in regutation a~ith ASA.
Mr. Giacomarro stated that there couid b~e a problem with the ligh#
poles when mo~ing th~ fence. Mr. PetiKa stat~d that the poles
shoutd be pain#ed a reflec#i~e color. Mr. Neety ~t~.ted that
TESCO will moUe the poles free of charge ~nd they will be mo~ed
before the fence. Mr. Da~is asKed about und~rground cables at
Fossil GreeK ParK. Mr. Giacomarro stated tha# th~rE are na# any
underground cables.
Mr. Parkey made a matio~ #hat the NRGSA's request to mo~e the fence
at Fossil CreeK Park an Field #3 camplyin~ with all the regulations
set by the PARD Director. Mr. Da~is ~econd the mation. Vote was
unanimous in #a~or of the motion.
B. The NRH Senior Citizen Center - N4 representati~e was oresent
Mr. Da~is sta#ed that he understood tha.t Food Di~tribution had been
cut. Mr. P~tiKa stated that was not true.
C. Richland Youth Ftssotia.tic+n htr. Higgs wa~ present but did not
haue any input. •

asKed when the Ga~K~etbait season uaould end. Mr. Hig05 answered they~

Mr. FetiKa stated that the budget is k~ecoming mare austeer.
Mr. PetiKa requested that a Budq~t WorKshap he scheduled ~,ery saon
to inform the Board of the status af budget.
Mr. McGil~ary asked far a toncensus for a meeting f or a Budge# Work-
shop. Saturday, March 21, 1~87, 8AM-10Ar1 was the conc~nsus for a
6udget WorKshop. The Recording Setretary was ins#ructed to contact
a.ll the 8oard Members the day bef are the meeting.
