Sitvation of Parks at this time w~s discussed by N~. Dennis Horvath.
All of the grant c~tracts and all other gapexw~rk was sent in twn w~eeks
ago. The contracts came in last week wi.th approwal. fran the state.
1he e~ineer hapes to have the plans by tom~rraw. 'Ihe plazis have to be
s~nt ta Austin then it is a two week turn arv~nnd in Austin. They apprc~ved
the plans for all of NorthField Park ~ the rest of tlie ~rk of F]nerald Hi.lls.
Provided wie get it ~t next w+eek and it takes them two w~eeks to approve the
final p].arns by their e~,gineers and architects. The grant for Northfield
Park is in the ~t of $400 , OOQ . The city wi1Z match tt~at ~ncnalt ; total
beir~ abaut $804,040. We can then go out for bids. The engineers already
have the biddirig specificati~s finished. He advised bidding is dane
locally and placed in the paper for tw~ weeks.
. When the b3.ds come in you have a formal bid o~pening. After the forn~a7.
bid ape~ing they must go to the coiaicil for apprwal of ttne lvw bid. Once
it is apprwed by tl~e cancil the work begiris imnediately. Northfield
Park is r.~l~tely tazidev~elaped at this time. Withaut the grant it cauld
be develaped to 50X; Pre-lighted Softball Firelds, Jogging Tracks, Ba.sket-
ball, and T~nis Coa~~ts. With the gr~nt it cauld be camQletely de~neloped.
Fmerald Hills Park theres 3ogging Trai.ls, Parking Facilities, Pic:nic
Facilities, Ba.slc,etball Caurt and Termis Co~t. Tota.l $160,000. $80,000
of which the grant pays for. That will fully develop the Fsaerald Hi.lls
Park.
Hopefully a gra~d brealcing for September 1,1983.
1 Park Directar, 3 Maintenance for next years budget.

Building of N~a Restrooms to be 15,000; new road 20,000. ~aposal
made by l~r. Dennis Harvath for construction of Fossil Creek Park.

It was also discussed of aciding ad~litional storage facilities at
Richfield Park by Mr. Horvath and the memUers af the parks board. Zhe
stora~e building will not cane fran the grant, it will came fran the
bond money.
It was also discussed the pc~ssibility of a pool and recreation center
being built at Richland High School. Mr. Tipps advised tha.t he will
talk to Mr. Toby Wood of Birdviile School Di.strict re: a meeting abaut
the pool and recreation center.
Mr. McGilvray propcxsed that the engineers check on the cost of a pool
and recreation center.
