CALL TO OP.DER The meeting was called to order by
the Acting Chairman, Tom Cozincll,
at 7:40 P.M.

Report on minor encroachment on Jim Anderson advised that this encroach-
Fossil Creek Park ment is not an adverse situation. The
party involved'has verbally a~r.eed to
move the encroaching fence at the city's
request. The city staff wi.ll pre~are
a letter for the residents signature
acknowledging his encr.oachment and his
agreement to move the fence upon 30 daS~s
notice ~iven by the city. The commission
unanimously agreed that this was a sat-
isfactory solution.
Proposal to ex~pend funds from '
Parks and Re~reation Fund Mr. Anderson '~riefed the co~mission that
, the fund now contains over $35,000.00
and its primary use is intended for the
Fnccil rrc+c+~r p~rk Imnro~?ment Project.
Following lengthly discussion and several
proposals a motion was made and seconded
that fund~ be withdrawn for the following
equipment in the amount indic~ted: Tennis
equipment/nets for the Richfield Park in
the amount nat to exceed $800.00, Balance
Beam for the F.ecreation Center in the
amount not to exceed $75.00, Tumbling
mats for the Recreat~on Center in the
amount not to exceed $600.00.
This motion was passed unanimously. ~
The City staff will prepare a resolution
~ to included in the agenda for the Juiy
23, 1479, City Council meeting.

Cuts on Park Operations (FY 80) items that were initially proposed
in the FY 80 budget. These items
were deleted during iniCial budget
revi~w. It was agreed that a hiln for

Scho~l should be reinstated into tiie
proposed budget for further consider-
ation.
Report on summer recreation Tir. Conncll reported an the results
program of the siimmer recreation program
sponsored by the city. This low cost
program ~s in the past has provided
recreation for over 550 children in
the North Richland Iiills area.
~ Councilman Freeman praised rir. Connell
for the outstanding success of the
summer recreation program. He stated
that he f.elt it was the Uest program
of its kind in the area and the citizens
Eoere appreciative of its success.
. A motion was made and seconded that this
pro~ram be expanded to the Smithfield
area for next year. The motion was
passed unanimously. The city staff
will request an additional $1,200.00
in the 1980 budget to cover this ex-
pansion.
Report on Recreation Center Mrs. Wilson presented a well prepared
Programs report on the status of the North Rich-
land Hills recreation programs. The
regort included fees col2ected, expenses
and particiPaC.ion figures for each .
~ activity. Her:report..also included.
a detailed list of needed equipment and
a facility improvement outline.
The commissio~t commended Mrs. Wilson and
. will review p~ogress on the improvement
efforts in future meetings.

Co~mnission procedural matters were
discussed at length. Mr. Horvath will
contaet tl~e Mayor to fill the two exist-
ing vaca~cies on t.he commission. He will

work with Mr. Williams on futUre agenda
i.tems and processing minutes of the
meetings. The members agreed that the
commission will meet tt~e first Tuesday
of each nionth or at the call of the
Chairman.
A motion was made and seconded that
Mrs. Wilson be made an honorary com-
mission member. This mation passed
unanimousl.y.
