HomeMy WebLinkAboutLIB 1972-06-28 Minutes NORTH RICHLAND HILLS LIBRARY COMMISSION June 28, 197z The regular meeting of the North Richland Hills Library Commission was called to order at 4:00 P.M. with seven members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved, motion made by Mr. Ellis and seconded by Mr. Davis. Mr. Brinkley announced the passing of City Ordinance #423 providing for stag~ering two-year t~rms of the members of the commission. As required in this ordinance, lots were drawn to determine which three members would serve only one year terms. These were Mr. J. Fred Davis, Mrs. Fred Parker, and Mr. Charles Brinkley. Mrs. Brinkley, Re~y~d Hazlewood, and Dr. Kulaga will serve two-year terms. A discussion was held on possible relocation sites for the library, and it was decided to table it until November. The Friends of the Library financial report was given by Mrs. Prewitt. The method of handling donations to the library was discussed. Dr. Kulaga~made the motion, seconded by Mrs. Parker, that all donations to the library be placed in the Library and Park Fund. The motion passed unanimously. A financial report on the status and balance of the Library and Park Fund was ~iven by Mrs. Prewitt. The current balance, as of June 1 was $1,006.20, receipts for May from the donations were $696.00, with a total of approximately $1,700.00. (Correct balance with expenditures subtracted as of June z9th was ~1,527.38.) A report on the new circulation desk was given by Mrs. Prewitt. As the money for part of the cost of the desk is the entire donated fund given as a memorial to Mrs. Betty B~Qrd, a plaque so saying will be placed on the desk when it is completed and announcements and publicity at that time.
