May 24, 1972 -
The regular meetin$ of the North Richland Hills Library Commission
was called to order at 4:00 P.M. with 6 members present.
- The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mr.
Norman Ellis and Mrs. F. Marvin Myers were introduced as new members-~d-B~
of the board.
It was announced that Rev. Hazelwood has been appointed by the city council
to be the city's representative to the county commissioner's study
group for a county-wide library system.
Officers for the new year were elected ur~.animously and are as
follows:
Charles Brinkley, Presiden~ (nom. by Rev. Hazelwoad, 2nd by Ellis)
Rev. Don Haz~,wood, Vice-Chairman (nom. by Ellis, 2nd by Mrs. Myers)
Mrs. H. E. Prewitt, Secretary (nom. by Rev. Hazelwood, 2nd by Ellis)
A report on the Friends of the Library Asso. was made by Mrs. Prewitt.
A su~gestion by Mrs. Prewitt that attendance of inembers be 60~ of
the time was tabled for future discussion if needed. Mrs. Prewitt
made a report on the monthly activities and finances of the library.
The lowerin~ of donations through water bills was discussed. Dr. Kulaga
su~gested publicity advertisin~ the need for this donated money to
bring the librazy book collection up to needed levels. Mr. Brinkley
Y agreed to contact the Star Telegram.
Mr. Brinkley asked the board to be thinking about new locations for
the library. when the lease expires next March or April.
The new summer hours for the library were announced.
Meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
