HomeMy WebLinkAboutLIB 1974-04-24 Minutes NORTH RICHLAND HILLS LIBRARY COMMISSION April 24, 1974 The regular meeting of the North Riehland Hills Library Commission was called to order at 4:30 P.M. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as read. An explanation of the construction grant sent to the Texas State Library was made to members absent from the last meeting. Results are expected to be known by the last week in May. Mrs. Prewitt read a letter from the Fort Worth Public Library, the major resource system library for our area, requesting that a representative from our city be appointed to participate in the annual election meeting on May 9, 1974, at 10 A.M. in the Board Room of the Fort Worth Public Library. Because of her interest and experience with libraries, the Board appointed Mrs. Oscar Reeder as our representative. A short biography will be sent to Fort Worth detailing her eligibility. The library budget for 1974-75 was presented to the Board for its approval. Discussion was held on the items and the budget was endorsed by the members. Mrs. Prewitt gave a report on the Ter.as Library Convention, briefly explaining new trends in librarye~ro~k. The library collection total was given: 13,050 in the circulation collection; 2,859 books and paperbacks in the donated collection in the back room. The average daily circulation for the month of April was given as 85. An announcement was also made of the six librar~es' combined display to be held at the Northeast Mall in Leonard~s court on April 26th and 27th in celebration of National Library Week. Mrs. Prewitt also announced that she will serve as president of the Tarrant Regional Library Association next year. Meeting adjourned.
