The regular caeetiag of the Aiarth Richland Hills Library Coaa~ission was
aall~d to order by Dr. Kulaga. The minutes af the last meetiag wesre
read and approved.
Mrs. Prewitt gave a report on the state of fiaances for the library. Funds
ia the amotuit of ~675•~ +~'e to be received for books from state library
fuads and an appraximate $1~00 more will be received oace L.S.C.A. grant
fnads. The~e fuads will a11 be admi.nit~red tluwugh the Library Services
Systear. Water bill ~oney for October xas x597•27• A discussion was
held by the board ne~bers on how to encourage people to continne donatiag
the fifty cents. Bev. Hazelwood reported that the chsirge no longer
appearad on his bill and that the bills thearselves sesmed to have been
changed in format. Dr. Rulaga said he wou].d tul,lc to Gene 8iddle and,/
or N.laa? Bronstad about this. It wa~ also suggested that mimeograph
letters be +aent to xater c~zstomers with their bills, ismediately prior
to the library opeaing or the open homse, thanking those who have
contribnted auid explaining the need for aaore funding for books in the
new library.
Dr. Kule~ga announced th~t after Nove~aber lst the Mid-Cities paper would
ao longer serwe North Richla~nd Hills. The problem of getting publicity
for the closiag of the library was discussed. Pla~ns for calliag the
three television chan~eels for tia~e on various nevs features was disscnssed
as a means of informing people the library would be closcd during the
move.
The baard was preseated the suggested meeting room polic3es worked out
by MrB. Brinkler and Mrs. Reeder. After di~cussing the regulttions, the
board unanimously approved theca for presentation to the City Caacil.
The bos~rd agreed to hold the next meeting on Nove~nber 19th and canc~l
the December meeting.
