April 30, 1975
The regular meeting of the N~rth Richland Hills Library Commission
was called to order by Dr. Kulaga. The minutes of the last meeting
were read and approved. The librarian, Mrs. Prewitt, presented the
board with the monthly status reports and financial reports.
The ground breaking ceremony, May 10th at 3:00 P.M., was announced
and the board members were invited to it.
Dr. Kulaga asked the board~s approval of a recommendation to the
City Council to have the SO cer~t donations placed on all water
bills again for the next year to provide extra income for books
for the new library. The motion was made and seconded, and Dr.
Kulaga agreed to go before the council.
Mrs. Prewitt reported to the board of the donation of books as
a memorial given by the D/FW Chrjrsler-Plymouth employees. The
emphasis being placed by the League of Women Voters on support
for state funding of libraries wa~°-also reported. The League
presented hand-outs and information to libraries to help get
patrons using libraries to write letters to their state represen~.atives.
The luncheon for T.R.L.A. members was announ~ed with board members
being invited. It will be held in the Sun Garden on May 16th. A
discussion of possible speakers and program was:held.
The Country Fair to be held in the Richland Plaza Mall May 17th
was announced and the library's participation with a booth and
tables to sell donated books. Volunt~ers will help man the
tables.
Mrs. Prewitt and Mrs. Reeder gave a report on the Texas Library
Association meeting. Mrs. Reeder's report on Trustee actions
supportinq libraries led to the board agreeing to visit another
area library for the June meeting. The purpose will be to gain
insight and new ideas of library service to the community. Service
to the shut-ins of the community was al$o discussed and Mrs. Reeder
and Mrs. Bri.nkley volunteered their services to visit those who
want books de3.i~ed to their homes as they are unable to come
_ to the library.
