The re~;ular meetin~ of the North I2ichland Hills Library
Commission was called to order by Dr. Kulaga. The minutes
of the last meetin~ were read and approved.
Dr. Kulaga ~ave the board the report he gave before the
city council stressin,~ the history of the library and
need for a new building. This was ~;iven in response t o
a citizen's complaint about the city building without
a vote by the city voters.
Mrs. Prewitt gave a report on the status of the library.
Circulation has increased to over a 150 books a day many
days of the month, and a marked increased in applications
was noted. This may be in part to the letters handed out
by the iVeleome ~Vagon and the sli~h~ly increased traffic
in the shoppin~ center.
Mrs. Prewitt also ~ave the board a brief outline of the
progress of the Early Childhood Development program as
contained in a quarterly report. The board also received
copies of the financial reports of the library budget and
Library and Park I'und.
The board agreed to meet March 19th for their next meeting
because of the Easter holidays.
The board was ~;iven the tentative plans for National Library
S~leek program~ April 13th through 19th. Plans for the book
sale beginning the first week in April were also announced.
The success of the Libra~y.Service System was reported and
the increased amount of funds for boolzs, now totaling ~2,000.
