The regular meeting of the North R~chland Hills Library Commission was called
to order by Mrs. Reeder. Al1 memb~ss w~rc present. Minutes ,of the last meeting
were read and approved.
Mrs. Prewitt announced to the board the receipt of a memorial donation by
the Zobal family. Mrs. Hazelwood said she has r~ceived good response frotn
peopl~ on the idea of giving memorial donations to the library. A brochure
was sugg~sted by Mrs. Prewitt to inform the pvblic of this idea.
A discussion Was held on the bicentennial project of binding the National
Geographic magazines. Publicity and informing the community of the pmoject
was debated, as well as Dr. Smotherman's suggestion that individuals known
to board members w~ould be easier to approach for ~ney for the project. Mr.
Davis suggest~d that he be qiven a chance to sell the entir~ binding project
~aa one sponsor before the board approaches the community.
Mrs. Reeder reported that she had been in touch with Mr. Holster of Trinity
Art Gui~ld about determining what art works would be displayed in the library.
F~rther details remain to be worked out with the Guild. Mrs. Reeder asked
~ that Mrs. Prewitt contact Mr. Adair at the Richland High School about the
schools participating in displays.
Mr~. Prewitt asked that the board read the reports to the city mactager for
up-to=date information on library statistics. The board also rec~ived the
October statem~nt of library .:sexpenditures and a report on the w~rkshops
that Mrs. Prewitt attended.
Mrs. Reeder announced that the next board meeting will be in January at the
regular scheduled titne. Meeting adjourned.
