April 28, 1976
The regular meeting of the North Richland Hills Library Commission was
called to order by Dr. Kulaga. The minutes of the last meeting were
read and approved.
The board was informed by Mrs. Prewitt that Dr. Kulaga, Mrs. Brinkley,
Mrs. Myers, and Rev. Hazlewood had terms expiring May 1, 1976. Dr.
Kulaga was presented with a letter of thanls from Mayor Tom Newman,
for his service as a board member and president.
The board ~~geis~ed various community names for recommendation to the
City Council for consideration as new board members, providing all of
them meet the requirement of residing in North Richland Hills: Robert
Harrison, Charles Owens, Lena May Littlefield, Betty Nelson, and Lois
Silver.
Mrs. Oscar Reeder was nominated by Dr. Kulaga, seconded by Mrs. Brinkley,
to serve as the representative to the Major Resource Council meeting
May 6th at Fort Warth Public Library. Mrs. Reeder will be up for
nomination as a representative to the MR~ council.
Mrs. Prewitt gave a report on the status of the lib~ary, presenting the
board with copies of the financial report. Circulation was reported to
have declined ~qt~tly, but this was explained to have been expected for
the month of April, and for May. Hurst Public Library will open May
10th, which will have an impact on circulation, also. Plans for the
Summer Reading Club activities beginning in June were outlined, and
the board also were informed of the tentative budget for next year.
Mrs. Prewitt also outlined briefly the meetings she attended at the
Texas Library Association meeting in Houston.
