March 24, 1976
The reguiar meeting of the North Richland Hills Library Commission was
called to order by Dr. Kulaga. The minutes of the last meeting were
read and approved.
Mrs. 8eeder informed the board that a plant had been sent to Mrs. Mullendore
and that she was at home at last report.
A discussion was held on the fire damage done to the Hurst library. Mrs.
Prewitt informed the board that a fireproof book drop, manufactured by
with the same company that made the present book drop, could be purchased
as ae accesssory item. The information on this item had been written
for to the company.
Mrs. Prewitt announced that as she would be at a Texas Library Association
Convention during National Library Week that tours by the tht~fid grade
classes of the North Richland Hills Schools, as a project for National
Library Week, would take place on Thursday, April 15th.
Dr. Kulaga suggested that the VHOE department of the Richland High School
be contacted, and a provision made in the next fiscal year budget, for
a high school student. This student would be hired at under minimum
wage and could work the busy afternoons after school when books could be
shelved by other than the library staff.
Mrs. Prewitt reported that circulation during the month of March has jumped
from the average in February of 267 to 332 books a day. Fine money, and
money from copying, has increased with a total in February of $109.15 and
in March of $231.18.
The board was reminded that four members would be up for re-selection or
replacement on the board as of May 1st, and the names of persons interested
in the library and being a board member should be presented at the next
board meeting in arder to be suggested to the City Council.
