~ November 30, 1977
The regular meeting of the North Richland Hills Library Commission was
called to order by Mrs. Reeder, boar~i~ipresident. Minutes of the last
meeting were read and approved. Mrs. Prewitt asked the board if they
would prefer to have the minutes sent to them each t~nth along with the
reminder and agenda for the coming meeting. Board members agreed with
this suggestion.
Mrs. ps~w~tt informed the board that the money received from the book
sale had been deposited in the Library Furniture and Equipment section
of the budget funds. M order for a ppperback display unit~~ had been
placed, had arrived, and was filled with new paperbacks. The remaining
approximately one hundred dollars is planned to be spent on frames for
posters that will be hung throughout the library.
Mrs. Reeder lead a discussion on two problems that had been brought to
her attention by patrons of the library~ and the staff. The janitorial
service to the library has proved inadequate for the traffic (number of
people) and the board members requested that Mrs. Prewitt make this
fact known to the proper city officials to correct this. The board
also felt that the City Manager and City Council should know that they
_ have individually all received complaints about the lack of sie~ns telling
the hours of not only the library, but City Hall, and the definite need
for a sign telling where the book drop is located. The board moved that
a proposal be drafted for presentation, motion ~de by Ron Smotherman,
seconded by Mrs. Brinkley, to the Council.
Mrs. Reeder announced that the next meeting of the board will be January
26, 1978.
Meeting adjourned.
