Mrs. Brinkley ~nd Mrs. Hazlewood led a discussion on the possibilities of closing one morning and opening that particular evening, checking to see what morning (by counting) is the slowest, and possibiy opening one night, after advertising, to see if people use it. Mrs. Hazc~ewood asked the board to consider what should be done about expenses that arise for board members such as hostessing the Tarrant Ftegional Library Association meetings when held at the library. Mrs. Prewitt explained that as a result of previous discussion outside of board meetings a decision had been reached to provide money in the library supply budget for refreshment costs at these once a year meetings,,,that city funds could no longer be used to send plants but could come from donations by the board. A report was made by Mrs. Prewitt on the success of the display of art werk by Mr. Paul Marcott and the possibility of other displays for the cases. Mrs. Prewitt asked to board to be thinking about the ordinance covering -ilibrary boards as problems have arisen at another area library. Copies of the ordinance and the Fort Worth ordinance will be given to the board at the next meeting. Mrs. PrewLtt asked for and received the board's approval to work with ~llen Schup who is developing an Eag1e Scout project that would provide books, and help, at the book sale the board plans for October. During the librarian's report Mrs. Prewitt announced that there have been few inquiri~s about the Books By Mail catalogs that are to be given to shut-ins and nursing home residents.
