,
April 27, 1978
At an informal ceremony before the beginriing of the meeting Mrs. Prewitt
presented Mrs. Reeder, for~ner Hoard president, with a letter of thanks
for her service.
Minutes of the last board meeting were approved as read.
A discussion was held on the reconnnendations for new library board
members to be presented to the City Council for approval. Mrs. Prewitt
was requested to cheek with each name approved to insure they would~
be able to attend ~neetings at the regularly sc~ieduled time before
submitting them to the council.
The board was r~quested by Mrs. Prewitt to select a member to attend
the annual meeting of the lay representatives and advisory council
to the North Texas Library System. The vacancy of position occured
when Mrs. Reeder resigned. Mrs. Charles Brinkley agreed to serve
as representative for this meeting and requested that a permanent
one be elected at the next board meeting that all members are present
at. NTLS rules now require that all lay representatives attend
annual meetings and other meetings during the year tc prevent loss
of funding for the librmry.
~ The board was pres~nted w3th the tentative budget for 1978-79 for the
Library. Each item was explained b~ Mrs. Prewitt. After discussion
the board approved it for presentation to the City Manager and City

for th~ positions of Library Assistant~~and the new pattern exchange
for patrons.
