HomeMy WebLinkAboutLIB 1978-04-27 Minutes _ North Richland Hills Library Commission , April 27, 1978 At an informal ceremony before the beginriing of the meeting Mrs. Prewitt presented Mrs. Reeder, for~ner Hoard president, with a letter of thanks for her service. Minutes of the last board meeting were approved as read. A discussion was held on the reconnnendations for new library board members to be presented to the City Council for approval. Mrs. Prewitt was requested to cheek with each name approved to insure they would~ be able to attend ~neetings at the regularly sc~ieduled time before submitting them to the council. The board was r~quested by Mrs. Prewitt to select a member to attend the annual meeting of the lay representatives and advisory council to the North Texas Library System. The vacancy of position occured when Mrs. Reeder resigned. Mrs. Charles Brinkley agreed to serve as representative for this meeting and requested that a permanent one be elected at the next board meeting that all members are present at. NTLS rules now require that all lay representatives attend annual meetings and other meetings during the year tc prevent loss of funding for the librmry. ~ The board was pres~nted w3th the tentative budget for 1978-79 for the Library. Each item was explained b~ Mrs. Prewitt. After discussion the board approved it for presentation to the City Manager and City Council. Mrs. Prewitt reported briefly on the upgrading of the job description for th~ positions of Library Assistant~~and the new pattern exchange for patrons. Meeting adjourned. L_
