HomeMy WebLinkAboutLIB 1979-09-26 Minutes ~ NORTH RICHLAND HILLS LIBRARY COA'U~4ISSION September 26, 1979 The meeting was called to order by president, Mrs. Charles Brinkley. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The monthly report of the library was handed out to board members for reading. Mr. Baker asked if the money received from patrons using the copy machine came back to the libra,ry to buy supplies for the machine. Mrs. Prewitt said that the money was turned into the city general fund, and that she had asked if it would be possible to keep it to buy supplies with, but that the City Council said no. Dr. 5motherman asked Mrs. Prewitt to call the other libraries in the area to see what the policy was on keeping copy machine money. Mrs. Daniel asked about keeping fine money. Mrs. Prewitt said it was the poli.cy at all the libraries she knew of to turn that money into the general fund. Mrs. Prewitt reported that statistics for the year look very gaod, although circulation has dropped in September as expected with school starting. A year end report will be given to the board at the next meeting as the fiscal year for the city ends September 30th. Mrs. Prewitt reported that all monies in the budget were expended and the final year financial report would also be available at the October meeting. ` Mrs. Brinkley reminded board members that the book sale would be SPptember ~ 28th and 29th. Volunteer response had been very good and she had schedules made out for those who would be helping. A discussion of prices to charge for the books was held. Mrs. P~~~tt gave a brief report of the Advisory Council meeting that she and Mrs. Brr~nkley attended on September 6th. The purpose of the meeting was to elect new council members and to hear reports of system activities during the year. Mrs. Prewitt reported that the Tarrant County Reqional Library Association is making up a scrapbook of pictures and information on all the libraries in the county to present to the county commissioners.
