HomeMy WebLinkAboutLIB 1985-04-17 Minutes ~orth Richland Hills Library Board Minutes April 17, 1985 Chairma.n Bob Courser brought the North Richland Hills Library Board meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 1985. The minutes of the March 27, 1985 meeting were corrected to state thar the Texas Library Association (TLA) will meet in Dallas for their annual conference, April 23-26. The Board approved the amended minutes. Mrs. Nourse reported that 50 children attended the balloon launch on April 15. Children's Librarian Christiann Dykstra planned the launch in celebration of National Library Week, April 14-20. The Texas State Library has received 35 affirmative votes for the reorganization of the North Texas Library Association to a nonprofit organization. Work will begin soon to initiaCe this project. The Board reviewed a letter of recommendation to the City Council of items to be considered in planning for a new library facility. Jan Daniels made a motion to approve the recommendation; seconded by Lynn 0'Day. _ Motion Carried There is sti11 no definite date set £or a new Library Building Bond Issue. Mr. Jack Allen was a guest of the Board so that he might become familiar with the background for this project. With his previous experience in marketing, he wi11 be able to suggest ideas for a fact sheet and fliers to be used during the _ campaign. The Board and Mr. Allen discussed various methods of running a Bond Issue Campaign. The Board will strive to organize a citizens committee by early summer so that its members can work on the Bond Issue Campaign. The next Library Board meeting will be at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 1985.
