CALL TO ORDER Chairman Jeff Newsom called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Members Present: Jeff Newsom, Chairman George Pederson, Commissioner Dennis York, Commissioner Larry Bracke, Commissioner Others Present: Ron McKinney, Personnel Director Linda Cast, Personnel Technician 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Pederson made the motion FOR JULY 14, 1992 to approve the minutes of the meeting held July 14, 1992, seconded by Commissioner York. Motion carried by unanimous vote. 4. APPEAL HEARING 92-04 Rex McEntire stated the matter has been settled, except for some paperwork we need from Ken Vise's attorney to close the appeal. Mr. Vise has already executed a voluntary wage assignment to re-pay $6000. Mr. McEntire requested that the Commission write a letter to Mr. Vise's attorney requesting the necessary paperwork. Chairman Newsom agreed he would. Commissioner Pederson made the motion to table the Appeal Hearing 92-04 until the next Civil Service meeting, seconded by Commissioner York. The motion carried by unanimous vote. 5. APPEAL HEARING 92-05 Mr. McEntire opened with a statement that Sam Mason is appealing a three day suspension without pay that he received. Mr. Mason's employment was subsequently terminated, but he has not appealed that action. Mr. McEntire advised the City has opted to set aside the three day suspension, and reinstate Mr. Mason's pay. Mr. Mason stated he understands that he had the right to appeal the termination, and chose not to. He is agreeable with the City's decision to reinstate his pay. Commissioner Bracke made the motion to approve the action of the City in reinstating the pay, seconded by Commissioner Pederson. Commissioners Bracke, Pederson, and Newsom voted yes. Commissioner York abstained. Motion carried. 6. NEW BUSINESS Mr. McEntire asked Ms. Cast to mail the proposed Rules of Conduct to the Commissioners. Ms. Cast stated she would place them in the mail the next day. 6. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Pederson made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Commissioner York.
