CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS
FEBRUARY 17, 1981

Chairman Bill Betts called the meeting to order at
approximately 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room located
in the City Hall Building.
t- AGENDA Item 1. Approval of Minutes -
Jim Ramsey made separate motions for the
approval of the Minutes from Civil Service
meetings and hearings dated 11-3-80;
11-10-80 and 1-13-81. Bill Betts seconded
the motions; motions carried by votes of
2 to 0.
Jina Ramsey made a motion to approve the
Minutes from the Grievance Hearing held on
1-14-81. "I make a motion for approval of
the Minutes of CS-80-18 of 1-14-81 in
summary form and not to be construed as a
verbatim report." Bill Betts seconded the
motion; motion carried by unanimous vote.
AGENDA Item 2. Capital Outlay -
The Commission discussed the approved
five-year plan for the budget of the office
of Personnel/Civil Service.
Jim Ramsey expressed that it is recognized
that this office performs a service to the
employees on an individual basis that is
valued much.

Such intangible service is difficult to
place into a statistical format, yet it
means so much to be able to give this
immediate and effective attention to each
tedious question and problem at the time
it is needed.
Bill Betts made a motion that the Civil
Service Commission should include one
Clerk I in the 81-82 budget along with
capital outlay of one typewriter and one
typewriter stand. Jim Ramsey seconded
the motion; motion carried by a vote of
2 to 0.
The Commission instructed the Civil Service
Secretary to send a memo to the City Manager
in answer to his request for this capital
outlay information.
ADJOURNMENT: Jim Ramsey made a motion to adjourn the
meeting at approximately 7:50 p.m. The
motion was seconded and the meeting was
adjourned
