Lopez - Chairman Moore read the charges made by the Department Head, dated July 8, 1977, General Memo 77-161. Mr. Moore then explained the procedure for Civil Service appeal hearings and the status of the Civil Service Commission. Mr. Kimble submitted an outline of the basis for the appeal as follows: (1~ To prove there was no abuse of sick leave. (2) To show that the poor evaluations were evidence or harassment. - Witnesses were heard and all the Appellant's Exhibits were received into evidence. Minutes CS-77-2 Page 2 . At the end of all the testimony, the hearing was recessed for deliberations. Leslie Trotter, Commissioner, was not present for all of the hearing, therefore, he was not allowed to have any part in the deliberations. The Hearing was reconvened for aniiouncing the Decision of the Commission which was as follows: "I make the motion that the indefinite suspension of Officer Lopez be sustained." , The motion was made by Mr. Moore, seconded by Doug Carter and voting was 2- 0. Roll call vote was, Mr. Moore, "for"; Mr. Carter,,"yes". AGENDA Items 2, 3, & 4: Al1 these items were deferred to Tuesday night, August 2nd at the regular meeting time, 7:30 p.m. ~ , William C.
