C. Moore in Room 113, Municipal Complex Building, 7301 N.E. Loop 820. ROLL CALL: COMMISSION MEMBERS W. C. Moore, Acting Chairman D. M. Carter OTHERS PRESENT John H. Green Jim Cato, City Council Bobby Becknal, Police Dept. Representative Jack Giacomarro, Public Works Representative ~ APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of the regular meeting of September 28th were approved by a motion from Mr. Carter, seconded by Mr. Moore. Voting was 2- 0. AGENDA Item l. Application for Position form which is currently being used for all departments, and the supplemental form which is used for Fire and Police DeparCments, was reviewed. The only changes recommended were by a motion from Mr. Moore, as follows: "That a space be provided for Zip Codes on the application and a space for a phone number on the supplement." Mr. Carter seconded the motion; voting was 2- 0. AGENDA Item 2. John Green graciously offered to provide a set of guidelines for the audit of Sergeant and Lieutenant classifications as referenced in Minutes of August 24th, Agenda Item 1. The CommiSSion will review these guidelines at the next regular meeting on October 26Ch. Mr. Moore ma.de the following motion which was seconded by Mr. Carter and passed by voting 2- 0. "Agreement has been reached by the Commission with John Green, former Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, to perform an audit for Police Sergeant and Lieutenant classifications." Mr. Green will work on an "as available" basis acting as a quasi-counsel on behalf of the Commission. 't . Minutes October l~, 1976 Page 2 RESIGNATION OF CHAIRMAN GREEN: Mr. Moore expressed a big debt of gratitude for the tremendous task which Mr. Green has begun and carried up to this point, as the first Chairman of the Civil Service Commission for the City. Mr. Carter also had words of appreciation for Mr. Green, followed by "thanks for your leadership" from the Secretary. Mr. Green responded by volunteering to make an independent study of the City Charter for revisions and ~ustifications. INSTRUCTIONS: The secretary is instructed to prepare a 1-page outline of each appeal and deliver to the City Secretary for the Council packets. An outline of letter composition testing for Secretary II was submitted by the City Manager. Mr. Moore made a motion to accept the outline as an appropriate test. Mr. Carter seconded the motion; voting was 2- 0. ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Moore made the motion to ad~ourn; seconded by Mr. Carter, the meeting was ad~ourned. ~ D--d'~-_.. William C.
