HomeMy WebLinkAboutCIV 1976-09-28 Minutes CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND HILLS September 28, 1976 CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Green called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Complex, secretarial pool area. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Moore made the motion for approval of the Minutes from the regular meeting on September 14th. Mr. Carter seconded the motion; all three votes were in favor of the motion. Mr. Carter made the motion for approval of the Minutes from the Appeal Hearing, Marvin A. Carter, on September 22nd. Mr. Moore seconded the motion; voting was unanimous. AGENDA Item 1. Mr. Moore, having studied the test material which was submitted by Fire Chief Gertz, made the motion that the secretary select 70 questions out of the 100, and that they be approved for use on September 30th. Mr. Carter amended the motion to read "randomly select." Mr. Carter seconded the motion. Voting was unanimous "for" the motion. AGENDA Item 2. The Commission deemed the job specifications to be quite adequate for Utility Billing Clerk, Code ~~013, and also for Cashier, Code ~~029. Mr. Moore made the motion that specs for Utility Billing Clerk be approved and make the entry level pay $592. per month. Mr. Carter seconded the motion; voting was again unanimous. Mr. Moore ma.de the motion that specs for the position of Cashier be accepted and entry level pay $630. per month. Mr. Carter seconded the motion; voting was unanimous. AGENDA Item 3. The Hearing of Marvin H. Carter, Grievance Appeal, was called to order. Marvin Carter was present with counsel, Dennis Morrow. Chief Stan Gertz was present with his witnesses. Fire Chief Gertz read a motion into the record, as follows: "September 28, 1976 - I, Stan Gertz, Fire Chief, hereby move to withdraw Case ~~CS-76-4 and CS-76-5, concerning Marvin H. Carter, Jr., having hereby resolved said ' complaints prior to this hearing which is satisfactory to all parties." Marvin Carter and his counsel arose and expressed a desire to ~oin in the motion. The CSC, by motion from Mr. Carter, Minutes Civil Service September 28, 1976 Page 2 withdrew their appeal hearings. Mr Moore seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken, results were as follows: Mr. Moore, "for" Mr. Carter, "for" Mr. Green, "for" The Motion, having passed unanimously, calls for a dismissal of CS-76-4 and CS-76-5.
