M I N U T E S
CALL TO ORDER: The regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission
was called to order at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference
Room 113, City Hall Building.
ROLL CALL: COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT
John H. Green, Chairman
William C. Moore, Vice Chairman
OTHERS PRESENT
George Conant, Jr.
Jack Giacoma.rro, Public Works
Helen Cline, Deputy Secretary
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of the May llth meeting were approved by a
motion by Mr. Moore, seconded by Mr. Green. Vote was 2- 0.
~ INSTRUCTIONS: The Commission instructed the secretary to write a letter
to the City Secretary, requesting that the next City
Council agenda include approval of the proposed Civil
Service Rules.
Also, instructed that another letter be prepared,
calling attention that the salary range recommendations
have already been submitted to the Council, in compliance
with Articl.e XVII, Section Sb, and is still awaiting
action.
AGENDA Item 1. A letter was drafted to the City Manager requesting
additional medical coverage in our new contract to
include maternity coverage.
Mr. Moore made a motion accepting the letter of request.
Mr. Green seconded the motion. Voting was unanimous.
AGENDA Item 2. Salary survey figures and fringe benefit results from
a total of sixteen neighboring cities were reviewed by
the Commission.

AGENDA Item 3. The Civil Service Commission wrote a letter of
authorization for access to personnel files of all
classified employees under the Civil Service.
The letter is set up for signatures of the Board.
Mr. Green made the motion to accept this letter as
drafted; Mr. Moore seconded the motion. Vote was 2- 0.
ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Moore made a motion to ad~ourn the meeting at
9:00 p.m. Mr. Green seconded the motion.
The meeting was ad~ourned.
