HomeMy WebLinkAboutCIV 1975-12-09 Minutes MINUTES CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSI013 CITY OF NORTH RICHLAND AILLS, TEXAS DECEMBER 9, 1975 CALL TO ORDER: Chairman John Green called the regular meeting of the Civil Service Commission to order at 7:30 p.m. ROLL CALL: COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT Mr. John Green Mr. Denver Mills OTHERS PRESENT Mr. Jim Cato, City Council Randy Ingram, Employee Representative Jack Giacomarro, Employee Representative Helen Cline, Deputy Secretary Visitors from the Public Works Department APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of November 25th were approved as written by a motion from Mr. Mills, seconded by Mr. Green. Voting was 2- 0. AGENDA Item 1. A NEWSGRAM (in draft form) was read aloud by Chairman Green. He asked for comments from Mr. Mills, who offered suggestions toward composing this written communication between the Civil Service Commission and all employees of the City. This Newsgram will be offered for distribu- tion to all employees as frequently as necessary to report what is happening with the Civil Service Commission. AGENDA Item 2. Use of Suspension Without Pay in Disciplinary Cases A letter from the Civil Service Commission to the City Manager was drafted on the sub~ect of use of suspension without pay in disciplinary cases. General discussion followed, setting up certain guidelines to be considered in determining what action should be taken by the department heads and/or Civil Service Commission in disciplinary cases. This letter will be placed on the agenda for CSC meeting of December 23rd. AGENDA Item 3. Civil Service Commission Opinion Regarding Sick Leave Relating to On-The-Job In~ury This letter to the City Manager (in draft form) was read aloud by Chairman Green. Again, He requested the input from others present. Comments were heard and will be considered in finalizing the communication. The letter is a statement of an opinion on a ru1e. Mr. Green made the motion, seconded by Mr. Mills, to finalize this letter according to the changes made here. Vote was 2- 0. -y . r ~ Minutes December 9, 1975 Page 2 AGENDA Item 4. Personnel Regulations, as relating to the above Item 3, were covered in the discussion for that item on the agenda. It was therefore not necessary to deal with it as a separate item for this particular meeting. AGENDA FOR DECEAiBER 23rd l. Finalization of the letter to the City Manager regarding use of suspension without pay in disciplinary cases.
