The Civil Service Commission of the City of Plorth Richland Hills, Texas was
called to order by the chairman, Mr. Green at 7:35 P.M. January 2~, 1Q75.

The chair read the minutes of the January 21, 1~75 meeting and there hein4 no
corrections, the minutes were approved as read.
Old Business
Mr. Green visited Fire Station #2 after January 21 meetina. He talked a~ith
Lt. Marvin Carter and Firefighter Mike Duncan.

Business of the Evening
1. Appeals Procedure
Mr. Green presented a second draft of Grievance Procedure. ~Rr. ~reen
suggested putting drafts no. 1& 2 together and reviewing it before the City
Attorney revieNaed same. Item ,#5, Procedures to be followed in conduct of hearin~
by the Con~nnission, will be covered with item ~1 at the next meetinc~.
2. Contract Services
~~r. Cato stated the City Council has expressed an interest in hiring
outside business to help the commissian with their 3ob. Mr. Green read "State-
ment of Work" requirements for contractar. Request for Bid ~uotation was re-
viewed by the commission and approved. This will be reviewed again next week
to prepare for council meetinq February 10, 1Q75.
Prospective bidders are:

Mr. Green asked for names of other prospective bidders be submittec+ at the next
meeting.
3. Contract Experience of Other Cities
Mr. Conant spoke with several people in Fort 4,orth, qetting no information.
Since Mr. Churchman had no information concerning Grand Prairie and ~~r. !~lood
- was absent this item was deferred to February ~ meeting.
4. Report of Availability of Civil Service Secretary
P9r. Cato read a letter from ~uth Pinner regardin~ a secretary. There
were three applications to be consi~ered under "Title VI Emer~ency Act". Since
~ January 31, 1975 is the deadline for hirin~ under said Act, the commission felt
they could not give quality action to applications.
PJew Business
Mr. ~reen stated Mr. Littlefield had been absent all but first meeting. P~r.
Green will talk with him about his availability and possibility of attending
the meetings. If unable to attend meetings a nea~ member should be appointed to
re~lace him.
