HomeMy WebLinkAboutCIV 1975-01-07 Minutes MIN[3TES January 7, 1975 The North Richland Hills Civil Service Commission met at City Hall at 7:30 pm on January 7, 1975. Members Present Members Absent John H. Green - Chairman Ken Littlefield (i11) Paul Churchman Others Present 3ames Cato - Councilman Jim Wood - Councilman George Conant - Councilman Bob Shade - Police Department obseryer Riley Long - Fire Department observer This meeting was a working meeting with no structured agenda. Discussion of the Civil Service amendment was carried on for the mutual benefit of both observers and members. Mr. Churchman agreed to draft a position description for the Civil Service Secretary to be discussed at the next meeting. Mr. Green agreed to draft a statement of work for contracting selected tasks for establishing Civil Service classification and pay scales - the statement of work to. be used in letting a contract. This will be further discussed at the next scheduled meeting. Mr. Cato indicated that he will provide information regarding tests and application forms. He also agreed to furnish the city wage scales and rosters of employees. Mr. Cato indicated that should a consulting contract be let, an organi- zational/functional analysis should be included in the statement of work. The members agreed. Mr. Long asked if the Civil Service Law is now in eff ect. The consensus was that the law is in full force and effect where the machinery of enforcement is in being. Specifically, the Commission can begin hearing appeals immediately. Receipt of city organizational charts is acknowledged. Mr. Cato agreed to furnish a report of sudit for the city. ~
