Youth Advisory Committee
' March 25, 1999
• The meeting was called to order at 6:55 p.m.
• The meeting was held a~ ~e AI.RH. Recreation Center and will be held there in the
future. The council is now under the Parks and Recreation department.
• The first order of the meeting was the approval of the January 14 minutes.
Billy made the motion for approval.
• Vanessa seconde~ t~he motion. .
• The motion was passed unanimously.
Host Homes
• Fliers were sent by David to tlie ~~ious churches in N.RH. informing them of our
project with the Bridge Shelter and asking them for their assistance.
• Every member was assigned a church to contact and to speak to about the details
concerning our project.
• Our goal is to get their parishioners to volurneer to participate in our project and
provide a temporary home for the children at the Bridge Shelter.
Approval of Report
~ The semi-annual council report was written by Lindy who was not presern at this
meeting.
• The semi-annual report and the annual report to council will be combined and
presented to council in April.
• Fliers and applications for applicants for next year's council were passed out to
representatives from each school. The deadline was set for April 16~'.
• A sub-committee was assembled for choosing next year's applicant that will meet on
Tuesday, March 20 at 6:45.
• The motion for forming the committee was made by Megan.
• Billy seconded the motion.
• It was passed unazumously.
• The members include:

• The council will amend the by-laws with approval from council to take one
representative from Haltom aud one from Shannon and to give Birdville the two
remaining seats. '
• The motion was made by David and seconded by Megan.
• The motion was passed unanimously.
•~'he council decided to enforce the atteadance policy (The member is required to
attend a certain number of ineetings. Failure to comply can result in forced
resignation.) set by the city for all city organizations and councils. "
• The motion was made by Vanessa and seconded by Megan.
• The motion was passed unanimously.
• The committee decided to postpone the April meeting to April 22.
• The motion was made by Ashley and seconded by Megan.
• It was passed unanimously.
• The council agreed to volunteer at the Teen Dance for teens living in N.RH. on A,pril
16'~ to be held at the Recreation Centez. Studerns not involved ia the council but in
need of community service hours are welcome to volunteer as well.
• Vanessa made the motion to adjourn at 7:55 p.m. It was seconded by Billy.
